The glory of a bird
White-crowned lapwing in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia.
Today’s video is a challenge to the many musicians and artists with whom we have partnered around the world. The topic has to do with the value of local culture. I share this video here with you because it demonstrates some of the passions that shape the ministry of Walk in Two Worlds.
As you listen I challenge you to think of your own local culture not as a liability to be overcome, but rather as an asset to be engaged for ministry.
Does this video challenge your view of your own local culture? Can you imagine new ministry approaches which engage local culture in redemptive rather than dismissive ways? How might respectful cultural engagement impact the people you are seeking to reach for Christ? Feel free to respond to the discussion on the YouTube site – we would love to hear your thoughts!
Praise * We leave Sunday for our first international travel since Mary Lu’s recovery from breast cancer. We are grateful for the Lord’s healing and restoration and excited for all the Lord has for us and our new colleagues in France, Portugal, and Spain. Prayer * Pray for Eric as he puts the finishing touches on the music for his senior percussion recital. Upcoming travel/events
