“We give you greetings in the Name of the Lord!” so sing the Esther Women’s Choir from Pentecost Assembly of God church in Mfuwe, Zambia in today’s video. The song is sung in the worship service during . . . the greeting time (surprise!) This song is a great example of how choirs in this region play an integral role in leading a worship service. When the greeting time occurs they lead out in this song even as they mingle and greet along with the rest of the worshipers. Choirs often compose songs for specific events in a service, in the calendar year or to mark special church and community anniversaries.

This song was recorded in Mfuwe, Zambia inside a pavilion which provided surprisingly good acoustics. The only challenge was wind noise which caused us to  use SM58 mics with wind screens (the round mics on the right side) rather than SM57 mics (on the left side) or super-sensitive condenser microphones.

Enjoy!
